About Pono Gymnastics
Our Story
Business, a love for gymnastics, and a shared passion for travel brought Wayne Boyd and Siril Jaatten together in 2022. After meeting at a Starbucks in Kaneohe, they quickly connected over coaching and their vision for gymnastics in Hawaii.
Following the success they built together at a local gymnastics club, they decided to create something of their own: Pono Gymnastics. Inspired by the Hawaiian value of pono—doing what's right with honesty and integrity—they are committed to building a positive, supportive environment for Windward Oahu's keiki.
With Wayne's 30 years of elite coaching experience and Siril's background as a 10 year rhythmic gymnast, 20 year business leader, and longtime Kaneohe community member, Pono Gymnastics found its home in Windward Mall. Today, the gym provides high-quality gymnastics instruction for boys and girls led by experienced coaches.
Membership
Pono Gymnastics offers memberships to individuals of all ages, interested in gymnastics training, offering classes for beginners and kids seeking more advanced gymnastics experiences. Our gym provides a comprehensive range of classes and programs in various gymnastics disciplines, creating a safe and supportive learning environment.

Class Descriptions and Prices
Guppies class (45 min parent/tot)
This program is designed exclusively for our youngest gymnasts ages 12 months - 3 years old. In each session, gymnasts learn how their bodies move and work. We focus on coordination, locomotion, following directions, and basic gymnastics skills, including hops, skips, jumps, rolls, cartwheels and pullovers. It’s the perfect class for the little one that isn't ready to enter a class on their own yet.
Stingrays 3-5 y/o co-ed (45 min)
This program is designed exclusively for our younger gymnasts ages 3 - 5 years old. In each session, gymnasts learn how their bodies move and work. We focus on coordination, locomotion, following directions, and basic gymnastics skills, including hops, skips, jumps, rolls, cartwheels and pullovers. We organize these classes by age group to ensure that each class caters to the needs of that group.
Bronze class (60 min/level 1 - girls only)
This class is for gymnasts with little to no gymnastics experience. Classes focus on core skills that every gymnast needs to move further within the sport, including forward and backward rolls, cartwheels, handstands, bridge downs, bar pull overs, proper ways to mount beam, beam positions, body shapes, proper body positions, strength, and flexibility.
Silver class (90 min/level 2 - girls only)
This class builds on and improves skills previously learned from our beginner level.
Silver level skills will focus on:
- Bars: Back hip circle, forward roll dismount to chin hold and pullover with chin hold.
- Beam: Pivot turn, side handstand dismount and straight jump on high beam.
- Floor: Back walkover, Power hurdle and round off rebound.
- Vault: Handstand flatback to resi.
Gold class (120 min/level 3 - girls only)
This class builds on and improves skills previously learned from our intermediate level.
Gold level skills will focus on:
- Bars: Cast to 45 degrees, Back hip circle from one cast, double back hip circle and glide swing stand pullover.
- Beam: Spit jump 90n degrees, Side handstand 1/4 turn dismount, cartwheel and half turn.
- Floor: Round-off back handspring, front handspring, Chasse step leap and full turn.
- Vault: Front handspring
Warriors (60 min/ninja class/co-ed)
Our Warrior class introduces novices to a fresh sport discipline where we combine elements from gymnastics, martial arts, obstacle training and free style movements. This entry level class offers a beginner friendly initiation into the dynamic world of this fun and explosive sport.

We offer competitive gymnastics from USAG Developmental Program level 3 - 10.
Our passionate coaching staff develops individual champions while making the journey fun. We believe success comes from a balance of gym and other outside activities.

We are excited to announce our new Xcel team. We will compete Bronze through Diamond.
Xcel offers the same Competitive structure as the Developmental Program, without all of the commitment and stringent rules.

Our COMPETITIVE TEAM only facility has full floor, 40ft tumble trak, 4 high beams, 5 sets of bars etc. Brand new equipment. Nice waiting rooms for families who wishes to stay. Located in the heart of Kaneohe, Oahu.
